While many skin rejuvenation treatments involve invasive procedures and advanced technologies, dermaplaning is a more gentle approach that focuses on manually exfoliating the face. Also referred to as skin levelling, dermaplaning is one of the least invasive ways to help your skin shine without surgery or downtime.
How it works:
This procedure features a tool called a dermatome, which is held at a 45-degree angle against taut skin and feathered across the surface in a manner similar to shaving. This process has multiple benefits for the skin, including:
- Removing the vellus hair or “peach fuzz” from the surface, which can help keep your skin clear.
- Exfoliating your appearance by removing dead skin cells and restoring your skin’s natural glow
- Minimizing the appearance of acne scarring slight wrinkling
What to expect:
After dermaplaning, you will leave our office with immediate results and being fully able to enjoy your smoother, softer, more radiant skin. As a normal skin cycle is about 30 days long, it is typically recommended repeating dermaplaning every four weeks to maintain results. We also have a full menu of other skin rejuvenation treatments, which can be discussed during your consultation.
Are there any side effects?
One of the main benefits of dermaplaning is its ability to revitalize the skin surface without causing any damage or injury.
