Around the world, men and women are turning to facial fillers to help enhance their profiles and give them the youthful, refreshed appearance they desire. In years past, dermal fillers weren’t so subtle, leaving patients with certain areas more filled in or prominent than others. Since then, aesthetic technology has rapidly improved, allowing patients to refresh subtly and naturally - but there are still a lot of myths out there about facial fillers.
Here at Samano Aesthetics, a Winter Park aesthetics clinic, fillers are among our most popular services. From Sculptra to Dysport and Restylane, we offer a variety of fillers that target different problem areas and help our patients put their best face forward. Today, we’re clearing up a few of the myths out there:
- Myth: People will be able to tell when you’ve had fillers. Fact: Dermal fillers have come a long way over the last 5 or ten years! Modern fillers are designed to work with your body’s chemistry, filling in sunken areas and adding volume without creating that “worked-on” look. Many people use fillers like Restylane in their hands and temples to give them a subtly refreshed look overall rather than highlighting one feature.
- Myth: Fillers work for a little while, and then they’re totally gone. Fact: Research has shown that many fillers can have a preventative effect on wrinkles and sagging. Hyaluronic Acid fillers like Restylane and Juvederm have been seen to stimulate your body’s own collagen production, leaving you with a more youthful countenance for the long-term.
- Myth: You can’t be sure you’re getting safe fillers. Fact: The FDA has approved Botox since 1989, with other injectables following suit not long after. Fillers and injectables are just as safe as any other medical or cosmetic procedure, provided you have them administered at a trusted facility. Look for a medspa with physician-administered treatments.
