Linda’s Corner: Setting Intentions for the New Year

setting intentions aesthetics skincareWhat does the New Year mean to you? For me, it’s a time to reevaluate what I’ve achieved and set my intentions for the months to come. As you know from the moment you enter my treatment room, I tailor my treatments to each patient’s unique needs with the goal of helping them heal from the inside out. This year, I’d love for you to try setting your intentions with me so we can grow together.

On the surface level, this may not seem to have much to do with your skincare and aesthetics regimens, but when you use aesthetics as a tool for overall health and wellness, the vision starts to come into focus. Here are a few intentions I’m setting for my new year:

  • Pay closer attention to what’s going on inside. It’s easy to tune out your inner voice. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we often forget to take care of ourselves until it’s too late. This year, I want to pay attention to my inner voice and what’s going on inside my body. I want to treat myself as a friend, rather than a burden. When I take a close look at what my skin is doing, it can help clue me in as to what’s going on inside.
  • Invest in the things that bring me joy. So often, we get caught up in business, in work, and in responsibilities, letting our passions fall by the wayside. This year, I’m going to be happy, and I’m going to discover and embrace what makes me happy. Aesthetics is my passion and I let it shine through every patient treatment I administer. How are you investing in joy this year?
  • Embrace the journey. When I know what I want, I can be impatient in my pursuit of my desires. I think a lot of people are so laser-focused on the end goal that they forget to gather as much insight and experience as they can along the way. This year, I want to embrace my studies, to be present in the process, and to live for the journey just as much as the destination. Think about what kind of journeys you want to take this year. What can you gather along the way?

Whether your intentions center on your career, your health and wellness, or the pursuit of your passions, setting them at the beginning of the year and reevaluating them each month can help us on our path to becoming healthy, whole individuals. As you relax in my treatment room, let’s talk about your goals and start setting intentions together!
